Revive Healing

I’ve experienced trauma. Is therapy safe for me?

Yes. Trauma work should always feel safe, paced, and collaborative. You will never be pushed to talk about anything before you feel ready. We move at a pace that respects your nervous system and your boundaries.

I support adults experiencing:

  • Childhood trauma or adverse experiences
  • Narcissistic or emotionally abusive relationships
  • Attachment wounds and relationship difficulties
  • Anxiety and panic
  • Low mood and depression
  • Low self-esteem and self-criticism
  • Trauma bonding
  • Feeling emotionally overwhelmed or stuck
  • People-pleasing and boundary difficulties
  • Loss of identity following difficult relationships
If you are unsure whether your difficulty qualifies for therapy, you are welcome to get in touch to explore this together.
No. Trauma therapy is not about forcing disclosure. Healing often begins with stabilisation, grounding, and understanding how trauma affects both the mind and body. When and if you choose to explore past experiences more deeply, we do so gently and with care.

Feeling emotional can be part of healing, but you will not be left feeling unsupported. I incorporate grounding and regulation techniques to help you feel steady before each session ends. Your wellbeing always comes first.

I integrate person-centred counselling with CBT-informed tools. This means:

  • You are met with empathy and acceptance
  • We explore relational patterns safely
  • We build emotional regulation skills
  • We gently examine beliefs shaped by earlier experiences
  • We focus on both deeper healing and practical coping tools
The therapeutic relationship itself can be reparative, particularly for relational trauma.
How long does trauma therapy take?
There is no fixed timeline. Trauma healing is not linear and cannot be rushed. Some clients attend short-term therapy for stabilisation, while others choose longer-term therapy to work through deeper patterns. We review progress together regularly.
Yes. Confidentiality is essential in trauma work. All sessions are handled in accordance with UK GDPR and professional ethical standards. The only limits to confidentiality would involve serious risk of harm or legal obligation, which would be discussed openly where possible.
Therapy is not a crisis service. If you feel at immediate risk, please contact the Samaritans (116 123), NHS 111, or call 999 in an emergency.
Appointments can be booked through our website, by phone, or via email. I offer both in-person and online sessions for your convenience.
Yes. We provide secure video sessions for clients who prefer remote therapy, live in another location, or have mobility challenges.
