Revive Healing

REVIVE COUPLES COUNSELLING
Relationships can be one of the most meaningful parts of our lives, but they can also become challenging at times.
Couples counselling provides a supportive and confidential space where both partners can explore difficulties, improve communication, and work towards a healthier relationship together.
Couples and Relationship Therapy is for everyone: those living together or separately, married or partnered, members of the LGBTQI+ community, or straight.
In couples therapy, both individuals are supported equally. The aim is not to take sides, but to help each partner feel heard, understood, and respected while working through the issues affecting the relationship.
How couples counselling can help
Couples seek counselling for many different reasons. You may be experiencing:

  • Communication difficulties or frequent arguments
  • Feeling disconnected or emotionally distant
  • Loss of trust or issues around honesty
  • Stress caused by life changes such as children, work, or finances
  • Differences in needs, expectations, or values
  • Recovering after an affair or betrayal
  • Repeating patterns that feel difficult to break
Therapy can help you understand what is happening beneath these difficulties and develop healthier ways of relating to one another.
Is couples counselling right for us?
Couples therapy can be helpful whether you are:

  • Experiencing ongoing conflict
  • Feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns
  • Wanting to strengthen your relationship
  • Navigating a difficult life transition
Some couples attend therapy during a crisis, while others use it as a way to strengthen their relationship and improve communication.
Sessions last 50 minutes and provide a confidential and supportive space for both partners. Appointments are available in person and online across the UK.
My approach to couples therapy
I offer an integrative approach to couples counselling, drawing on:

  • Person-Centred Therapy – creating a safe and non-judgemental environment where both partners feel heard and respected
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – helping couples understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours influence relationship patterns
  • Trauma-informed practice – recognising how past experiences can affect how we respond in relationships today
Through this approach, we work together to explore patterns within the relationship and develop new ways of communicating and understanding each other.
What to expect in sessions
Couples counselling sessions provide a structured space where both partners can speak openly and honestly. During therapy you may:

  • Explore the underlying causes of conflict or disconnection
  • Identify patterns that keep the same problems repeating
  • Develop empathy and understanding for each other’s experiences
  • Work towards rebuilding trust, connection, and emotional safety
  • Learn practical communication skills
Sessions focus on helping both partners feel supported while working towards positive change.
